Somavive is a collaborative health studio which offers acupuncture, osteopathy, and massage therapy as its main modalities. Together, practitioners Jeremy Malcolm, Acupuncturist, and Carl Douglas Kern, Osteopath and Massage Therapist, bridge evidence-based clinical practice with a holistic understanding of health and wellness. Drawing from Eastern and Western perspectives, both practitioners offer individualized treatment for each client, and collaborate when needed to provide a unified, whole-person approach to care.
In addition, Somavive provides craniosacral therapy, cupping, acupressure, moxabustion, medical Qigong, and Tuina to help you get to the root cause of pain, tension, and restricted movement. Treatments support musculoskeletal health, injury recovery, stress reduction, support for chronic health concerns, and overall well-being.
Somavive also offers Community Acupuncture — small-group sessions that provide affordable, effective care in a relaxed, supportive environment. Serving Westmount and Montreal, Somavive combines clinical skill with intuitive insight to create meaningful, lasting results.
Jeremy Malcolm, licensed acupuncturist, and Carl Douglas Kern, osteopath and massage therapist, cofounded Somavive: Awaken the Self-Healing Body, both offering personalized private treatments in their respective practices, while also collaborating when appropriate to offer patients a unified, whole-person approach to care.
Jeremy Malcolm is a licensed acupuncturist registered with l'Ordre des Acupuncteurs du Québec (O-A-Q), bringing over a decade of experience and a deeply personal understanding of healing to his practice in room 401 at the QEHC. Trained at the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a B.Sc. in Health Studies from the University of Toronto, he treats a wide range of conditions — from chronic pain, migraines, and digestive concerns to anxiety, insomnia, infertility and hormonal health — using acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, and qigong-based integrative coaching. Jeremy's treatments are available for reimbursement through insurance benefit plans.
Carl Kern is a classically trained osteopath, craniosacral therapist, and massage therapist, offering over 10 years of clinical experience as a health professional to room 624 at the QEHC. A graduate of the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and Sir Sandford Fleming College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, and a Level 1 & 2 Craniosacral Therapy certified practitioner (Upledger Institute), Carl works with patients experiencing chronic pain, postural imbalances, digestive and neurological conditions, pelvic floor dysfunction, acute injuries, and more. His osteopathy and craniosacral approach is grounded in classical osteopathic principles: thorough assessment, identifying the root source of restriction, and trusting the body's own capacity to heal. Carl's massage therapy practice is rooted in therapeutic Swedish technique. He is a member of OSTCAN and the RMPQ and his treatments are covered under insurance benefits plans.
