We are thrilled to announce that our Imaging Department is now digital. Patients will benefit from faster services and will no longer have to return to the Q.E.H.C. to pick up their x-ray films. All appointments will now be booked through a digital Radiology Information System (R.I.S.).
Imaging results will be sent directly to referring physicians through a Patient Archiving and Communication System (P.A.C.S.).
We thank the Q.E.H.C. Foundation (Q.E.H.C. Community Services) and the community for making this phase of the digitization project possible. Phase 2 (to follow shortly) will consist of the purchase of a new digital mammography machine and will complete this project.
A very special thanks to volunteer Louise Curley who has raised over $29,000 over the last 9 months, for this project.
The Q.E.H.C. Diabetes Education Program, which receives over 1,300 visits per year, was fortunate to receive a large donation of blood pressure monitors for the clinic. Our thanks to Bristol Myers Squibb for their generosity.
As many of you know, Élaine Lalonde who has been working with the Q.E.H.C. Community Services for the past 12 years, resigned in the fall to take on a new challenge at Enablis. We welcome Sarah Malka as our new Director of Development for the foundation and wish her much success in this new endeavour.
A great big thank you to all the volunteers who made Daffodil Day and Denim Day 2011 a success. The amounts raised were as follows: Daffodil Day (Canadian Cancer Society) $1,645 and National Denim Day (CURE Foundation) $330
Many thanks to all our volunteers and supporters
The 2011 Volunteers' Luncheon was held at the Pasta Casareccia, where a delicious meal was served. We took this opportunity to thank all of our wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly for the Q.E.H.C., in various areas.
Special anniversary service pins and flowers were given to the following volunteers: Mary Ryan, 5 years, Tatyanna Mozgova, 5 years and Angelo Pantis, 10 years. MANY, MANY THANKS TO ALL OF THEM!
