Under the Tuscan Sun 2010

The Queen Elizabeth Health Complex's 7th annual fundraiser Under the Tuscan Sun

Over 250 guests attended the 7th annual gala event to profit the Queen Elizabeth Health Complex, Under the Tuscan Sun, held on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 at Parisian Laundry.

The event raised $65,000 that will be used to digitize the QEHC Breast Cancer Detection Center. The QEHC operates one of Quebec's 16 accredited Breast Cancer Detection Centers where over 7,000 mammograms are performed annually. Digitizing the mammography equipment is critical if the Queen Elizabeth Health Complex wants to continue serving its patients with the level of quality they deserve.

Chair by Paul Coffin, the organizing committee included: Bob Anderson, Sandy Cochrane, Annic Lavertu, David Pickrell, Janet Rankin Hambleton, Brian Marcil, Domenico D'Alesio and Irene Tschernomor.

The evening's guests feasted on a wonderful Italian buffet graciously donated by Vago Restaurant from Greene Avenue. Some great Tuscan wines were graciously offered by Berretta Wines while the white wine was donated by LCC Vins et Spiritueux. The band The Fundamentals sponsored the event and delighted guests with a variety of old tunes.

Silent auction items like an Alouettes jersey autographed by Anwar Stewart, a weekend at the luxurious Auberge Saint-Antoine in Quebec City, tickets to a Cirque du Soleil show anywhere in the world, a flat screen TV, great restaurant gift certificates, helped increase the evening's revenues.

The famous Grey Cup was present accompanied by two of the Alouettes' cheerleaders. Guests had a chance to see it firsthand and have their picture taken with it. All in all, the 7th edition of Under the Tuscan Sun was a great success.

We wish to thank our sponsors for their generous support.
