over $75,000 raised for the QEHC,
and a very pleasant evening!

The trendy art gallery Parisian Laundry was host once again to the 6th annual wine tasting event «Under the Tuscan Sun» on Thursday, April 23rd, 2009.

Over 250 guests attended the event and had the opportunity of tasting some wonderful Tuscan wines: Colline di Toscana 2006, Brunello di Montalcino 2003 and Rosso di Montalcino 2006 generously donated by Berretta Wines.

Paul Coffin, of LCC Vins et spiritueux, chaired the event with great enthusiasm. He was seconded by Tony Fargnoli, from Tony Shoes, Jim Allan, Robert Anderson, Gino Berretta, Annic Lavertu, Brian Marcil, Anna Marie Müller, Mia Piccinin, David Pickrell, Janet Rankin Hambleton and Irene Tschernomor.

For the 6th year in a row, Gino Berretta of Berretta Wines donated the wonderful Tuscan red wines. The white wine was generously donated by LCC Vins et Spiritueux. 

Guests feasted on a magnificent buffet catered by The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel, and had the opportunity of bidding on exclusive items in the silent auction, to the tunes of the talented Denis Ducharne and his band The Fundamentals.

Over $75,000 was raised in net profits. These funds will help purchase a much-needed new x-ray machine for the QEHC Imaging Department. Our Imaging Centre does over 40,000 tests per year. As part of an overall plan to digitize the entire Imaging Department, the QEHC needs to replace its x-ray machine which dates back from the time of the old Queen Elizabeth Hospital. A new x-ray unit will provide higher quality images in reduced time and is one of our top priorities.
