About X-rays

Patients that come to our Complex appreciate the convenience and immediate availability of our x-ray services. A common reality for many people in Montreal is wait times for less urgent x-rays. The Queen Elizabeth Health Complex prides itself on alleviating some of the pressure on the neighbouring hospitals; effectively allowing them to focus their attention on urgent care.

Although the demand for digital imaging services is indeed high within Montreal, the situation can be worse. People in Mistissini, Quebec had to travel 90 kilometers to the closest facility in Chibougamou until this summer. Residents rejoiced at receiving their own medical images department in June. The process has become much more efficient for health practitioners and patients alike. The x-rays are taken locally in Mistissini and digitally sent to doctors in neighbouring Amos, Val d’Or or Rouyn-Noranda for diagnosis. The process has become infinitely more efficient! Here at the Queen Elizabeth Health Complex, we are used similarly as a resource by doctors here in Montreal. Doctors refer their patients to us for their x-rays and we then send the results back to the treating doctors digitally. Much like the case in Mistissini, the process is seamless and quick. This referring relationship allows us to take some of the burden off of the hospitals and give doctors the immediate and accurate results that our team of leading radiologists and technicians can provide.

X-rays are fully covered by the RAMQ and we facilitate all the administration on your behalf. For more information, or if your physician has referred you for an x-ray, please call us at 514-485-5115 and we will gladly answer any questions or work with you to find the most convenient time in your day to schedule an appointment.
